Meeting Minutes - 1/15/17

Hello Team,

Thanks for your time and input at our meeting on Sunday! Here's where things stand as of now and what we're looking at for the next several weeks:

1) Next meeting will be March 5th for anyone who can be there.

2) Jason - you were going to follow up about your availability to sing on worship team that Sunday. Please get back to me asap on that so I can plan - thanks!

3) Sunday - 1/22: NO SONG, but I'll be asking the sound team to play "Be One" by Natalie Grant immediately following the service to encourage people to get involved in the Job Fair....subliminal message, haha!!

4) Sunday - 1/29: NO SONG, but suggestions are still welcome. Unless something hits you and feels like a fit, the plan will be to close with a prayer/piano mediation time dependent on Mark's decision.

5) Sunday - 2/5: NO SONG - Teen Service

6) Sunday - 2/12: "Lord, I'm Ready Now" (Plumb) - MELISSA MCGINNESS. Melissa, you did this back in 2015 and if you're able and willing to sing it again, it's a great fit for the message. Get back to me and let me know so we can pencil it in.

7) Sunday - 2/19: "Welcome Home" (Shaun Groves) - KATHY BERRY. Kathy, you were going to check and then let me know if this is a good fit vocally for you. Thanks!

8) Sunday - 2/26: "Your Mercy" (Paul Baloche) - KYLIE AUSTEN - this is for Communion and will likely be played by some of the band, whether just piano or what, we'll decide later. We may add Kara and myself to the vocal mix -- I'll keep you all in the loop.

9) Sunday - 3/5: "Still Listening" (Steven C. Chapman) - JASON STRAUB. Jason, you were going to do the same as Kathy and let me know if you feel like this is a fit for you for the closing song.

I think that's it on the meeting, however, I completely forgot to gather interest and availability for the auditions this Thursday night. Here's what's up:

Adey and Jared are definite about being there but they are both trying out on instruments, not vocals. Bethany has been a definite, but I haven't been able to catch up with her since the new year to just confirm. I have an email out to her today and if she ends up not able to come, there's no reason to have our vocal team there to evaluate. 

At this point, Kylie and Drew are planning to come and plug in so that we can play a little "live" music with Adey on keys and Jared on bass. So, I know both Kylie and Emily are looking to be here. Also, Dave and Matt are intending to be here since both Adey and Bethany are youth group age and wouldn't be joining the adult worship team for at least a year provided we agree that their giftedness would qualify them.

I am happy for Melissa, Kathy, and Jason to join us but I also don't want to take a night out of your week to listen to Bethany sing. But, the invitation stands so just let me know where you're at as far as coming. I'm not as motivated to make it a high priority since we only have 1 vocalist trying out. You know what I mean?
